The Regent of Akrofuom, Nana Anim Agyekum II, has pledged his support to the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia took his Ashanti Regional tour to the Akrofuom Constituency on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and engaged stakeholders of the constituency in Akrofuom to explain his vision for the country.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia on behalf of the chiefs and the people of the area, Nana Anim Agyekum praised President Akufo-Addo and the NPP for the development they have brought to the area and also assured the vice president, whom he described as a “future leader,” of their unflinching support.
“Here, our main job is petty trading, and we needed a good market for our traders. Now we have a very big market among other projects. Future leader, please, I want to request that you extend our gratitude to President Akufo-Addo.
“Tell him that when you came here, the people of Akrofuom said they are very grateful to him. Tell him the chief and his people are very grateful,” said Nana Anim, as he also praised the commitment of the District Chief Executive and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the area.
While assuring Dr. Bawumia of their support, Nana Anim Agyekum praised the NPP Flagbearer for his wisdom and urged him to be resolute.
“As you are coming, stay resolute, for God has blessed you with wisdom and bravery. The way Ghanaians have accepted you, we have also joined them to embrace you. We have taken you as our son because we know you will not disappoint us,” he added.
The chief further commended the government for the district road improvement project (DRIP) machines sent to them, urging the district to speed up the upgrade of some roads he mentioned.
The vice president assured the chiefs and people of the area of his commitment to continuing the NPP’s support to the community.
Dr. Bawumia said once supported, he would be more accountable to the people because he would have to come back and seek re-election from the people, unlike his opponent (John Mahama), who would not seek re-election.
