President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Julius Debrah as his Chief of Staff as he leads Ghana for the second time as president.
Julius Debrah, who was the Chief of Staff during John Dramani Mahama’s first term, brings a wealth of experience to a government that is ready to reset Ghana and make the country great and strong.
Over the years, Julius Debrah has worked for the National Democratic Congress in the 4th Republic under all their presidents.
Photos available on social media indicate that he worked under Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills, and John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on his appointment, Julius Debrah indicated, “I knew I would be part of the presidential team, but I wasn’t too sure because it is the prerogative of the president. I think in his wisdom, I will be able to hold his office together.”
On whether he has been offered the position for his loyalty over the years, he said, “The main reason is because he is looking for people who can work and understand him. If there is somebody who can second-guess him, then probably I’m the one. I’ve spent so much time with him and in addition to that, I think he is somebody who also supports loyalty.”
However, he indicated that John Dramani Mahama’s appointments won’t necessarily be because of how loyal people are to him but rather competence and ability to work.
