Otumfuo tours Kejetia, Kumasi Airport

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has inspected some ongoing projects in Kumasi – the Ashanti regional capital.

Otumfuo’s unannounced visit on Sunday afternoon took him to the Kejetia Redevelopment Project site and the Kumasi Airport.

The Asantehene, who was in a suit and accompanied by some chiefs, first toured the Kejetia Terminal.

The Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, took Otumfuo round the facility.

Albeit Otumfuo did not make any statement at the location, he intermittently nodded in admiration.

From Kejetia, Otumfuo and his delegation visited the Kumasi Airport to inspect the project.

Phase two of the Kumasi Airport project is currently underway to improve the airport.

As part of the project, the current runway would be extended and a new arrival hall would be constructed, among others.

A source at Manhyia Palace said Otumfuo is determined to ensure the transformation of Kumasi into a world-class city.

The 20th anniversary of the ascension of the Golden Stool by Otumfuo will be celebrated this year, and he wants to ensure that Kumasi is ready for the big event.

According to sources, several dignitaries from Ghana and beyond would visit the city to celebrate with him.
