Police officer burns lover’s house after breakup

A Police officer, Sergeant Saviour Senaya, is alleged to have burnt the house of his girlfriend, Veronica Doh, at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region for breaking up with him.

According to an eyewitness, Israel Aboagye, the policeman came to the house early Sunday morning to look for the girlfriend with a polythene bag in hand but the lady had gone to church with the family.

“The policeman went to the back of the house and a few minutes after he left, the house was in flames,” he narrated.

“We later saw the rubber bag at the back of the window containing fuel and matches,” he added.

“We have lost everything to the fire and had to rely on neighbours for clothes,” Veronica narrated.

Veronica who said she now sleeps in a container with her family said she had been with the suspect for about 3 years.

The matter has since been reported to the police who have begun investigations into the matter.
