It’s time for change – Naana Jane

The runningmate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang says it is time the nation changed the course of its direction.

According to her, Ghana is showing too little for the abundance of resources nature has bestowed on it.

In her maiden address as the runningmate of former President John Mahama, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Cape Coast University said she is extending an invitation to all well-meaning Ghanaians to join her party to bring change in the upcoming polls.

“The time is ripe for change, that time is now. Let’s reignite the Ghanaian spirit of caring. We shouldn’t be where we are now as a country. We shouldn’t be here,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mahama says President Nana Akufo-Addo is bereft of ideas and has no real solutions to the problems of Ghanaians.

The former President addressing party members at the University of Professional Studies in Accra (ACCRA) to officially outdoor his runningmate called on Ghanaians to come together and kick out the Akufo-Addo administration in the December elections.

“My brothers and sisters, the 2020 election will be a referendum on the four years of Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency – four years of nepotism, corruption, stagnation, deliberate abandoning of badly needed social infrastructure, dehumanisation, disenfranchising Ghanaians, stripping Ghanaians of their citizenship, deliberate collapse of indigenous Ghanaian businesses, massive job losses and the attendant socio-economic hardship.

“This will be a referendum on the term of a president who has no real solutions for Ghana, a president, hell-bent on doing whatever it takes to stay in power – including, against sound advice, replacing the very voters’ register, which brought him into office.”
