Isaac Dogboe jabs Emmanuel Tagoe in his latest tweet

Ghana’s former WBO Super Bantamweight Champion, Isaac Dogboe, has taken a swipe at compatriot, Emmanuel Tagoe, who is also a former IBO Lightweight Champion in a tweet on Thursday, boxingafrica.com has discovered.

The two Ghanaian boxing icons started dissing each other far back in 2018. Dogboe was preparing to fight Mexico’s Emanuel Navarrete when Tagoe told UTV Ghana: “If Dogboe wins, he won’t fight me, so I’m praying he loses so that when he comes, he’ll face me.”

His comment stunned many Ghanaians, who were thinking he would have been backing his countryman. Dogboe would lose the title, although he’s since made a comeback, looking impressive in a knockout win over Chris Avalos last July in the featherweight division.

It may have gone unnoticed to some, but on Thursday, Isaac Dogboe took a not-so-subtle dig at Ghanaian compatriot Emmanuel Tagoe on Twitter.

“At long last the fake world champion has decided to go back to Miami to begin his camp. Who can guess who I’m on about?” his post read.

A Ghana flag accompanied the message leaving no doubts that Dogboe, 25, 21-2, (15 KOs), was referring to Tagoe, the lightweight contender who returned to the U.S. last week to train for his next bout.

The 31-year-old Tagoe (31-1, 15 KOs) is also closing in on a world title shot. Ranked number-three by the WBO. His next opponent hasn’t been announced, but a win there could put him in line for a shot at the strap.
