Inaki Benched, Semenyo Starts: Likely Black Stars XI to face Chad

The Black Stars face Chad today, March 21, 2025, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With coach Otto Addo under huge pressure to make amends for the team’s inability to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, he is likely to start with his best available players.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi is expected to start as the goalkeeper, retaining his spot as the number one goalie for Ghana currently.

In defence, Fenerbahçe’s Alexander Djiku and AS Monaco’s Mohammed Salisu will occupy the center-back positions. Gideon Mensah and Kingsley Schindler will play in the full-back positions.

Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Abu Francis will play in the central and defensive midfield positions, respectively. They will be complemented by Mohammed Kudus as the attacking midfielder.

Ernest Nuamah and captain Jordan Ayew are expected to play on either side of the flanks, supporting Antoine Semenyo, who will lead the attack.

Below is the expected starting XI
