I’m not the ‘Hammer’ being fingered in Kwadee’s situation – Da’ Hammer cries

Renowned Ghanaian music engineer Edward Nana Poku Osei, also known as Da’ Hammer, has broken his silence on social media to address a growing misconception linking him to the ongoing controversy surrounding Okomfour Kwadee.

In a Facebook post on February 3, 2025, Da’ Hammer clarified that he is not the “Hammer” being referenced in the saga, urging the public to correct the misunderstanding.

He firmly stated that he has no involvement in the controversy or any dealings related to Okomfour Kwadei’s health.

“I wish to firmly clarify that I am not the “Hammer” being named in the ongoing Okomfour Kwadei controversy. I have had no involvement or dealings whatsoever with our brother regarding his health or any related matters. The Hammer being named in the saga is our distinguished Kumasi-based industry colleague known as Hammer Nti,” he wrote.

Da Hammer revealed that he had been receiving numerous calls from concerned family and friends who mistook him for Hammer Nti. Prompting his decision to clear the air.

“Over the past few days, I have received no fewer than fifty calls from concerned friends and family, some of whom expressed dismay at my presumed role in this saga, attributing to me a part in our brother’s declining condition. It is precisely this misunderstanding that has prompted me to speak out,” he added.

Da’Hammer’s clarification comes amidst the ongoing feud between media personality and former manager of Okomfour Kwadee, Hammer Nti and Kwadee’s family over the health of the musician.

On the March 1, 2025, episode of UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’, Okomfour Kwadee’s mother denied allegations that she is responsible for her son’s mental health issues, claiming that these claims were spread by Hammer Nti.

Hammer Nti, in his defense, claimed he did a better job taking care of Kwadee than his family.

Okomfour Kwadee, born Jerry Anaba, has faced mental health challenges over the years, including battles with substance abuse.

Despite multiple rehabilitation efforts, his condition has fluctuated, leading to public concern about his well-being.
