Asafo Agyei Chastises Bawumia For Being Ungrateful To Kuffour
Deputy Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwaku Asafo Agyei has chastised Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for demonized Former President Kuffour and his legacy.
According to him, for Dr. Bawumia to say that the Nana Addo led NPP government 20 months in office has done well than all the past government records shows his ungratefulness to J.A Kufuor since he (Kuffour) has done well for Ghana and for NPP .
“Has President Akuffo Addo done well in 20 months than Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah? Has President Akuffo Addo done well in 20 months than Former President Kuffour records? Can he be that ungrateful to J.A Kuffour? Even if he dislikes NDC, CPP and the rest of the parties can you say President Akuffo Addo has done well in 20 months than Kuffour 8 years in office then former President Kuffour did nothing for the country and the party” Asafo Agyei stated.
His comment comes after, Vice President Dr.Mahamadu Bawumia said after just 20 months in office, the Akufo-Addo Presidency has done more to digitize and formalize the Ghanaian economy and society than what has pertained in Ghana for several years since independent.
“In just 20 months, we have implemented policies and programmes designed to formalise the economy and make life easier for both the ordinary Ghanaian and businesses. For instance today, through the use of technology, getting a Drivers’ Licence has been made easier and cut out the need to pay a middleman before accessing an essential service. This is certainly good for the ordinary Ghanaian and business.”
Vice President Bawumia touted the achievements of the Nana Akufo-Addo government in its short stay in office when he addressed participants at the UK-Ghana Investment Summit in Accra on Tuesday 16th October, 2018.
Speaking to Kumasi based OTEC FM monitored by thepressradio.com on October 17, 2018; Asafo Agyei stated that Dr. Bawumia doesn’t have any credibility to make such comment.
“In fact I know that today no single child in Ghana takes Dr. Bawumia serious if he speaks because he has lost credibility” he stressed.
He added that he is very disappointed in the Vice President for the implementation of the useless National Digital Property Addressing System-GhanaPostGPS which he claims is achievement than the pass government.
