I’m chilling at Marriott hotel, I’ve not been arrested – A Plus

Kwame A Plus, a well-known sympathizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has debunked media reports claiming that he has been arrested and will spend the night behind bars.

According to him, he is sitting at Marriott Hotel in Accra, having fun with some friends.

In a news report published by Ghanaguardian.com, A Plus was said to have been being held for allegedly using a fake Facebook account to publish libellous stories against Stephen Asamoah Boateng also known as Asabee, the Executive Chairman of State Enterprises Commission (SEC).

The report added that A Plus was invited by the CID last week and was expected to show up at 1pm on June 18, 2019, but failed to comply with the directives, playing hide and seek with the police.

“We are told the maverick supporter of the NPP later turned up at 5:30pm and has since been detained at the CID headquarters. A Plus is likely to spend the night at the CID headquarters,” the report stated further.

But reacting to the news in a Facebook live video, A Plus said the news of his arrest was propagated through various NPP WhatsApp platforms by persons closer to Asabee.

He explained that Mr Asamoah Boateng insulted him (A Plus) and he responded in likewise manner. He was then invited by the police to come and respond to a case brought against him by Asabee, so he went to the CID headquarters to write his statement and after he left there, there was a false reportage that he (Kwame A Plus) had been arrested and would spend the night in jail.

“Asabee can’t get me arrested. I am at Marriott hotel chilling,” he said in the video.

He added: “I insulted Asabee and I will continue to insult him till he retracts his insult. You guys are cowards and conformists, none of you can behave the way I do. Kwame A Plus…I am a bad boy. I walked in and out of the police station…tomorrow 9am I will go and walk out again from the police station again.”

A Plus warned that if any supporter of Asabee brings a fight, he (A Plus) will cause a fight for 5 million members of the NPP.

“I told the police that Asabee insulted me that I’m mkwasiampanin and I also insulted him that he is kwasia, idiot, ofui, kwasia and many more,” he said.
