‘I’m a living legend’ – Maame Dokono after being honoured at 2024 Ghana Women Awards

Veteran Ghanaian actress Grace Omaboe, well-known in the showbiz industry as Maame Dokono, described herself as a living legend at the 2024 Ghana Women Awards held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

Delivering a speech after receiving an award, the veteran actress, who has graced television screens for over five decades with her exceptional acting skills in movies, expressed gratitude to her fans and the people present at the event.

She also pointed to her positive impact on individuals with her remarkable acting skills.

“I think I have touched the life of every Ghanaian, and I want to say thank you to everybody. I am a living legend. Thank you very much,” she said.

Maame Dokono has been a household name and was the face of Ghana’s most popular “Akan drama” series and also “Obra.”

The veteran actress has also played leading roles in many Ghanaian movies and has starred in over 50 films.

Maame Dokono’s “By the Fireside” television program has excited viewers, especially the young ones who were always anticipating the next edition.

The Ghana Woman Awards has, over the past decade, celebrated the achievements of Ghanaian women in the country.
