If you don’t like Mahama, just shut up – Kwaku Boahen

A Deputy Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwaku Boahen, has asked some leading members of the party to stop the incessant attack on former President John Mahama.

According to him, the outburst by some leading members of the party after a decision of former President John Mahama to stage a comeback in the 2020 election is not healthy to challenge the NPP in 2020 if it continues.

“President Mahama has become a President of this country and so what crime has he committed if he decides to come back. If you don’t like Mahama, just shut up and allow him to continue his good works because it doesn’t speak well of our party” he said.

Kwaku Boahen was speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Monday.

Mr Dramani Mahama has to cross the first hurdle by beating ten (10) other flag-bearer aspirants or more in the NDC’s presidential primary slated for December 7, 2018 before he can lead the party in the 2020 election.

But even before the internal contest, some of the flag-bearer aspirants are not giving the leadership of the party any chance to make it easy for Mr Dramani Mahama to win the flag-bearer contest.

Some members of the NDC have been ventilating their disgust over the anticipated comeback of former President Mahama.

Strangely, however, while the Mahama loyalists are moving heaven and earth to have him back as the party’s next presidential candidate, the skeptics are insisting that Mahama was not up to the task during his tenure in office and must thus be replaced with a capable flagbearer.

But Kwaku Boahen said some of them will move heaven and earth to have him (Mahama) back as the party’s next presidential candidate, regardless of any attacks from some presidential hopeful.

He said Mahama was up to the task during his tenure in office and must thus not be replaced with anyone.
