I was going through real pain – Camidoh speaks up on smoking video

Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation Camidoh has opened up about a viral video that trended last year, depicting him smoking an unidentified substance.

In an interview with Hitz FM on June 18, 2024, the artist said he was going through personal struggles following a heartbreak, revealing that he turned to smoking to cope with the pain.

He acknowledged that fans who have followed his career might have been surprised by the video and urged them to understand him since he was “going through real pain.”

“I wouldn’t even lie. Like, I started going down that lane. It’s to clear your mind.

“It was very important for me to tell the full story. That maybe this kid you knew before was not on this lane.

“I went through certain things. So if you are disappointed, know that somebody was going through real pain. That’s what led to what you saw,” he said.

Camidoh’s statements come as he is on a promo tour for his new song ‘Nothing Lasts Forever,’ which narrates his personal ordeal of losing a loved one due to misunderstandings.
