Withdraw ‘Papa no’ tag or we’ll give you a name – Minority to Oppong Nkrumah

The Minority in Parliament has taken issue with Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for describing one of the caucus’ members as ‘Papa np’ during a debate on the floor of the house on Friday.

“Mr Speaker, I want to encourage our colleagues on the other side, I want to encourage my good friend who just spoke, in my hometown, we’ll say ‘Papa no’; I want to encourage Papa no to take some time and follow the structure of this transaction”, he said during the debate on the $1billion minerals royalties deal.

In response, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu said: “You have lost my respect as Minority Leader from today”.

“We take strong objection to it”, he added.

He threatened: “If you don’t withdraw [that name], we won’t recognise you today as a minister of state. We’ll refer to you as Kojo. And from today, we will not accord you any respect as a minister”.

“What do you take us for?” he fumed.

“From today, we will not recognise you as a minister of state”, he stressed.

“We will give you a name”, he added.

‘Papa no’ has become the toast of social media after it was used in the raging digital war between singer Mzbel and actress Tracey Boakye in reference to a sugar daddy known to both of them.
