I lied that Chief of Staff gave me 50K – Afia Schwarzenegger

Afia Schwarzenegger says she lied over her claims that Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare gifted her GH50,000 for her father’s funeral.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’ show as a guest host, she apologized to the Chief of Staff.

Let me take this opportunity to apologize to Mama Frema Opare because people took the whole thing out of context,” she said

Explaining why she publicly lied about the donation, she claimed what she did is part of Asante culture.

I said I was going to thank all those who failed to attend the funeral. As is the case in Ashanti custom, whenever you go and inform someone about a funeral, you need to thank them whether they attended or not,” she said.

According to her, Tracy Boakye and others were around her when she was recording the video.

Then I told them, this thanksgiving I am going to be really sarcastic and silly about it“.

She further explained that the CoS through her P.A named Protozoa also invited her to her brother’s funeral and she attended with family though they were also bereaved.

So it was not a secret, I told about 30 people around me that I am going to be sarcastic because if you don’t come to a funeral and they are thanking you and you accept that gratitude, you deal with your conscience,” she said in the 6 minutes video below.
