I haven’t undergone facial surgery; I only had anti-aging lift – Empress Gifty

Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has refuted allegations circulating online that she underwent facial surgery.

In a video shared on Instagram on March 28, 2025, Empress Gifty clarified that what some netizens are labelling as face surgery is an ‘anti-aging lift’.

Empress Gifty emphasised that she opted for the anti-aging procedure to prevent wrinkles on her face.

“I have not had any surgery. You should upgrade yourself when things are changing. I am growing, and I don’t want wrinkles on my face… When I stopped moving with some nonentities, have you seen how important people have come into my life? I don’t hide things from you,” she stated.

Addressing how the procedure initially made her face appear strange, which led to the facial surgery rumours, Empress Gifty explained that she didn’t get the required rest because she had to attend John Dumelo’s father’s funeral.

“You all should give me two weeks. Right after the procedure, I should have rested for two weeks, but because John Dumelo had lost his father, I felt his pain and decided to attend the funeral,” she explained.

“People started speculating false news about me having surgery. Give me two weeks, and you’ll see how beautiful I will look,” she added.
