I chose the name ‘Sarkodie’ because I thought It was linked to wealth – Sarkodie

Rapper Sarkodie says he chose the name because he thought rich men are called by that name.

According to him, while growing up, his father had three rich friends all of whom were called Sarkodie so he chose that name so wealth could find him when he grows.

The rapper made this known when he spoke to M.anifest in a discussion they had on their latest release “brownpaperbag”.

He noted that it was until he grew up and saw one Sarkodie who was broke before he came to the realization that the name does not change anything but the hard and smart work invested,

Sarkodie returned to Ghana this week with his family after being out of the country for six months.
