‘I bought my necklace for $450,000 ten years ago’ – Don Elijah Birdman claims

A controversial Ghanaian rapper, Don Elijah Birdman, has stirred social media with a recent comment about the price of his necklace.

In an interview on GHOne TV on November 7, 2024, the rapper noted that a necklace he bought in 2014 was worth an amount of $450,000.

Don Elijah Birdman insisted that due to the current dollar-to-cedi rate, the necklace would cost $1 million.

“I bought the necklace 10 years ago and it cost me $450,000. But because the dollar has gone up, it is $1 million. I have been doing the music business for over 25 years now and I have been changing money when I travel outside,” he said.

He added that he had a record label before rapper Sarkodie came into the limelight.

“I stared artistes like Davido, Shatta Wale, and even Burna Boy. I registered a record label even before Sarkodie became an artiste. I registered my label in 2007 and he (Sarkodie) came out in 2009. I even brought the brand ‘Abodam’ and Kwaw Kese stole it,” he added.
