‘I am replacing Abeiku Santana at OKAY FM’ – Nana Romeo discloses

Media personality Nana Romeo has officially announced his next career move following his recent departure from Accra FM.

On May 26, 2025, Nana Romeo took to Instagram to announce the end of his working relationship with the Accra-based radio station, marking the conclusion of a huge chapter in his broadcasting career.

But revealing his next step during a recent interview with Sammy Kay on May 30, 2025, Nana Romeo disclosed that he will be joining Despite Media.

According to him, joining Despite Media has been a long-time dream since 2016.

“In 2016 Abeiku Santana showed interest in politics. And since then I have wanted to work at OKAY FM. Abeiku Santana has always been my role model. I loved him from day one,”

“Finally after almost 10 years at Accra FM, I am moving to a new family and this is a family that has always been in my heart. I have always loved to be with Despite Media precisely with OKAY FM,” he said.

When asked if he would replace Abeiku Santana as the host of “Ekwanso Dwoodwoo” at OKAY FM, Nana Romeo noted that speculations on social about his new role is true.

“I am going to play the Drive. Abeiku has Despite media at heart but you know it will get to a time when he will leave the seat for someone to take over. He is a big personality in the media space. I know I am going to fill his space and we all know that is a large space for me to fill,” he added.

He further noted that Abeiku Santana is aware of the information, and has given him his blessings.

“He is aware. How can this go on without Abeiku’s knowledge? Even if I have not told him, he knows about it. It is an open secret,” he added.
