How Benjamin Asare shared his GH¢170k Black Stars bonuses with Hearts of Oak players

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has reportedly shared his bonuses from the Black Stars with his teammates.
According to a report from Fakye TV, Asare earned a total of GH¢170,000 in bonuses and per diems from his two games with the Black Stars.
The report indicates that Asare shared about half of the amount with his teammates at Hearts of Oak, including those from the women’s team.
Asare is currently the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars, following an impressive debut with the national team in March 2024.
He kept two clean sheets in two games against Chad and Madagascar during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, earning the trust of head coach Otto Addo, who named him the first-choice goalkeeper.
However, his position in the national team may be at risk due to his current situation at Hearts of Oak.
The former Great Olympics goalkeeper has been dropped from the matchday squad for their last two games since returning from international duty.
