‘Are you crazy?’ – Abedi Pele loses cool after player’s mistake

Nania FC’s training session took a dramatic turn as legendary Ghanaian footballer Abedi Ayew Pele lost his temper following a costly mistake by one of his players during a practice session at the Nania Park, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

In a video circulating on social media, the three-time African Player of the Year is seen in a heated exchange with the player.

Abedi, who is also the club’s owner and occasionally serves as head coach, showcased his passion for the game—though not in the best light.

The 1993 Champions League winner was heard reprimanding the player for what he perceived as complacency, attributing it to the team’s comfortable 4-0 lead during the session.

Abedi warned the player that another mistake could have serious consequences.

Nania FC’s pursuit of promotion to the Ghana Premier League remains on track. After 11 games, they currently sit fourth in Division One League Zone 3 with 22 points.

They will face league leaders Hohoe United at Nania Park on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
