Houseboy mere suspect; GH¢50k cash bounty on real killers of GPHA’s Joseph Asante

The Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority(GPHA)  has placed a GH¢50, 000 bounty on the killers of its late Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, Josephine Asante, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed

A statement issued and signed by Michael Luguje, Acting Director General of the GPHA, disclosed that amount will be given to anyone who provides the police with Information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the murderer(s) of one of the Authority’s Managers Mrs Josephine Asante.

According to him, the horrific murder of Mrs Josephine was shockingly received by the Port Authority In the early hours of Sunday 11th January 2019 at her Emefs Estate residence in Afienya, a suburb of the Greater Region.

“So far, the Tema Regional Police Command Is undertaking investigations into the horrendous killing of our colleague.  GPHA will therefore like to assure the general public that it will engage all resources available. to ensure that the perpetrator(s) of the heinous crime are apprehended and made to face the full rigours of the laws of the country. Thus, GPHA is committed to assisting and hastening the investigative processes of the Poke by offering the above stated amount as a reward for any persons or group that will provide the first meaningful information to the Police which will lead to the arrest and conviction of the murderer(s) of Mrs. Josephine Asante.

Background  

It would be recalled that Madam Josephine Asante of Tema Ports was in her home at Community 25 in Tema where her assailants  somehow had access to her bedroom,  murdered her with a knife though MyNewsGh.com cannot confirm the number of people who committed the act

The incident happened on Sunday dawn when the top Ports Manager had returned from a Senior Staff Party of the Ghana Ports. Her blood-bathed body was however found the following this morning as murderers had locked her inside the bedroom and threw the key into the main compound and bolted unseen, MyNewsGh.com was told.

Her children broke down the door to find her dead in a pool of blood after they were unable to reach her in the morning.

One Christian Agyei, who is the houseboy of the deceased has been arrested and admitted to burying a wristwatch belonging to the deceased, together with 340 cedis behind the window of the boys’ quarters where he sleeps according to the police.
