The founder and leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has called the bluff of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) for calling on the police to arrest him.
According to him, the GJA is only acting unprofessional, has goofed and therefore should be disregarded.
He told the GJA to rather call broadcaster Salifu ‘Mugabe’ Maase to order over his unpleasant comment against him and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo instead of calling for his arrest.
“I’m very shocked at the conduct of the GJA and their quick response to call on the police to arrest me. They have done a big mistake and need to correct that as soon as possible. How can you even call for my arrest when you don’t know what happened. They should rather call that ‘Mugabe’ boy to order and not me,” he said on Accra based Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
The controversial pastor stormed Radio XYZ last Friday to warn radio presenter, ‘Mugabe’ Salifu Maase over what he described as unsavory comments against him.
The GJA in a statement said the development was worrying and urged the police to call the religious leader to order.
But, the controversial man of God reacting to the call by the GJA said the umbrella body of the media fraternity is being hypocritical and that he owes no one an apology over the issue.
The popular pastor explained that he went to the premises of the Accra-based radio station to dialogue with ‘Mugabe’ to find out why he kept insulting him on the radio.
“I didn’t go to radio XYZ to fight neither did I go there with the national security. The said radio station is even in the same area I stay and I am in very good terms with them. However, I was there one day when someone called to ask if I have a problem with ‘Mugabe’ because he kept insulting me,” the leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry stated.
He wants ‘Mugabe’ to apologise to him for verbally attacking him on radio.
