On December 11, a grand ceremony of the “Honest View” media award for foreign journalists and bloggers, established by Rossotrudnichestvo in 2022, was held in Moscow.
The shortlist of the international Rossotrudnichestvo award “The Honest View Media Award” included 30 foreign authors of articles devoted to objective and comprehensive coverage abroad of projects with Russian participation and the development of international cooperation.
In total, this year the organizing committee reviewed more than 250 works from 51 countries. This is twice as much as last year. Following the call for nominations which ended recently and attracted submissions from a number of leading African media specialists who are contributing towards promoting Russia’s image abroad.
For the first time, media specialists from Argentina, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Nigeria, Serbia, Peru and Turkmenistan took part in the competition.
It has a cumbersome selection process, which provides a unique opportunity for, at least, one African professor from the University of Peoples’ Friendship named after Patrice Lumumba, Professor Zenebe Kinfu, to be part of the process of selecting winners for the various categories.
The contest was held for the first time this year and united outstanding media market professionals from different countries. The subjects of the contest works are very diverse: high-tech production, territorial development, social and humanitarian issues, promising industries and international cultural partnership with Russia.
“There are also comic nominations for those who write about Russia in different ways,” noted Anton Chermensky, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Information Policy Department.
The final winners for the 2023 edition of the “The Honest View Media Award” are leaders from diverse spheres of society who have shown professionalism, ingenuity and resourcefulness in their remarkable articles, photos and blogging materials that significantly highlighted Russia’s achievements.
