Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi Inspires BECE Candidates in Brewaniase and Bonakye with Support and Encouragement

In a heartfelt show of leadership and community spirit, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, on Thursday, June 13, 2025, visited Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates at the Brewaniase and Bonakye examination centres. His mission: to uplift, motivate, and reassure young minds at this critical point in their academic journey.

Accompanied by the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Jonathan Korsinah, and the NDC Constituency Chairman, Nana Prosper Akamani, Hon. Awal Antwi’s presence was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from both students and educators. Addressing the candidates, he reminded them that success is not just about grades but also about discipline and integrity.

“Let your hard work speak for you,” Hon. Awal Antwi told the students. “Do not be tempted by shortcuts or malpractice. Your honesty today builds your future tomorrow. We are here because we believe in you.”

The visit was more than symbolic. It came with practical support as well. Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Kini, Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, donated Mathematical Sets to all candidates across the two centres. The items were presented through the MCE and were received with excitement by the students, many of whom described the gesture as both thoughtful and timely.

“These tools may look small, but they carry big encouragement,” one student shared. “We feel seen and supported, and that alone gives us the confidence to do our best.”

Mr. Korsinah used the opportunity to commend the teaching staff and examination officials for their hard work in preparing the students and ensuring a smooth and credible exam process. He urged candidates to stay focused and carry the lessons they’ve learned into the next phase of their education.

Nana Prosper Akamani emphasized the broader importance of the visit, describing education as a “non-negotiable pillar” of national development. “Our children deserve more than just words; they deserve action. That’s why we’re here—to show them we’re walking this path with them.”

This marks the latest in a series of visits by Hon. Awal Antwi to BECE centres across the municipality. His ongoing efforts are part of a wider commitment to education and youth development in Nkwanta South, a commitment that is clearly resonating with students, teachers, and parents alike.

In a time when many young people are facing economic and social pressures, such initiatives not only provide material support but restore belief—in the system, in leadership, and most importantly, in themselves.

As the final exam papers are written and scripts submitted, one thing is certain: the students of Brewaniase and Bonakye will remember not just the questions on the test, but the leaders who stood beside them with encouragement, tools, and hope.
