Here’s why Kofi Adomah has all the right to sue Dormaahene

Media personality Afia Pokuaa has stated that her colleague, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, has the right to sue the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, over the recent shooting incident that has caused him severe eye injuries.

In a video making rounds online on March 17, 2025, Afia Pokuaa insisted that it was the Dormaahene’s duty to protect the journalist from harm.

She explained that Kofi Adomah was an invited guest at the festival in Dormaa, and as the Dormaahene failed to ensure his safety, Kofi has every right to take legal action.

“Kofi and his entire family can sue the Dormaahene. It was his duty to protect him because Kofi was an invitee, and the Dormaa chiefs were the ones who invited him. One interesting thing about the whole issue is that most of the Dormaa chiefs are judges, so they know the law,” Afia Pokuaa said.

She further emphasised that the only way the Dormaahene and his chiefs could avoid responsibility would be if Kofi Adomah had attended the event without their permission.

“Assuming they told Kofi Adomah to position at a particular place and he decided to disobey them, then the law wouldn’t hold them responsible because Kofi disobeyed their order. But so far as he was told to capture that particular video, which led to the incident, his family has all the right to sue the Dormaahene and his chiefs,” she added.

What led to Kofi Adomah’s current situation?

A few months ago, Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii, along with his team from Angel FM/TV, Kofi TV, and MagrahebTV, travelled to Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region of Ghana to cover the Dormaa Kwafie festival and the 25th anniversary of the enstoolment of Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II.

While covering the event, Kofi was shot in the face by one of the gunmen wielding a musket, causing severe damage to his eyes and necessitating a series of surgeries on both eyes.

A GoFundMe account has also been created to solicit funds for another upcoming surgery.
