Hearts of Oak vs Bechem United (GPL WEEK 3)

Hearts of Oak face Bechem United as they search for their first win of the season following a poor start.

The Phobians are in bottom place with two defeats in two games and are yet to score while conceding three goals in the process.

Bechem United, in the same vein, has not scored and are without a win in their first two games. Unlike Hearts of Oak, they drew both games.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have a better record against Bechem, winning 4 out of the last eight meetings between the two teams. Two of those ended in a draw, with Bechem winning two games.

The game will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium after Hearts of Oak’s regular home ground, Accra Sports Stadium, was closed down.

Hearts are among four clubs—Legon Cities, Accra Lions, and Dreams FC—who have relocated after the National Sports Authority (NSA) closed the Accra Sports Stadium.

The NSA officially announced on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, that it has closed down the Accra Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium for renovations.

The renovations come in response to an uproar from Ghanaians after CAF deemed all national venues in Ghana unfit to host category 3 matches.
