Hamza Issah is paid GH¢2,000 by Hearts of Oak – Agent alleges

Isaac Saha, the agent of Hearts of Oak striker Hamza Issah, has revealed the salary of the former Hearts Youth player. Issah, who was promoted to the senior team in the 2023/24 season, scored 13 goals in 28 Premier League games.

However, negotiations to secure a new deal for the young striker have consistently failed.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi FM, Saha disclosed that Issah’s salary has remained unchanged since his promotion to the senior team despite his impressive performances.

He also criticised the culture of secrecy surrounding player salaries in Ghanaian football.

“They’ve done nothing about his salary. It’s been the same since he broke into the first team—GH¢2,000. I don’t know if it’s because of how low they pay the players, but clubs in Ghana always get angry when you mention player salaries,” he alleged.

Saha also made a passionate plea to the Hearts of Oak board to address Issah’s salary concerns, noting that the player is unhappy at the club.

“I plead with the board members of the team. He’s an investment in the future of the club. Togbe Afede XIV, I beg you to call the kid and do something about his salary because he deserves it. If his salary is improved, it will raise his performance because, right now, he’s unhappy at the club,” he added.

Hamza Issah has featured in 12 games during the 2024/25 league season, scoring three goals for Hearts of Oak.
