Govt to provide free Wi-Fi to high schools – Bawumia
Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that the government intends to provide free Wi-Fi to senior high schools and public universities soon.
He said plans are far advanced for the first piloting of this policy, this year.
Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia who was speaking at the first government town hall meeting for 2020 in Kumasi said the youth has been the bedrock of development over the years.
The Veep said the Ghanaian youth over the years have made significant contributions towards the development of the country and, therefore, it is only right and apt that the government and the entire Ghanaian society show greater commitment towards their welfare.
He noted that the government has demonstrated through the introduction and implementation of innovative policies to transform the education system and make it more accessible to young people.
“We will continue the path of helping the Ghanaian youth in diverse ways to make life in Ghana better for them,” he stated.
The town hall meeting outlined with data evidences the Akufo-Addo administration’s achievements in three years.
Under the Auspices of the Information Ministry, the meeting is focusing solely on updating Ghanaians on the fulfillment of its promises and commitments made ahead of the 2020 elections.
The governing NPP in its 2016 Manifesto committed to 388 promises.
