Govt is not sparing any efforts in ensuring Abia remains peaceful – Ubàh

Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia state on Security matters, Naval Comdr Macdonald Ubah (Rtd), has described security as bedrock of any society, restating that Governor Alex Otti-led administration in the state is not sparing efforts in ensuring Abia remains safe for residents.

Ubah who spoke through a press release, after official introduction the new Commander, Nigerian Army,14 Brigade Ohafia, Brigadier General Hassan Muhammed Bello to the State Governor, Alex Otti.

According to him, “We believe if we cannot guarantee security for protection of lives and properties of the citizen every other thing we are doing would make little significance. That is why we don’t spare any efforts whenever this government is dealing with security issues”.

The security adviser assured that the government will continue to provide logistic supports to security agencies in the state towards achieving a peaceful and secured Abia.

While emphasizing the unwavering committment of Governor Otti-led administration in securing the state, Ubah commended Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies for the relative peace in Abia and urged the new Commander of 14 Brigade Ohafia, General Hassan Mohammed Bello to chart a new ways of fighting crime as security is top priority of the current government.

He assured the new Army commander of the government’s support to enable him to succeed in the new assignments bestowed on him.

The security expert further commended Governor Alex Chioma Otti for assenting into law the newly amended Abia State Security Trust Fund.

He said “With the establishment of the Trust Fund, we will have a more organized and institutionalized ways to address funding of security, especially in acquisition of necessary security equipment that would engender the smooth operation of security in Abia.

Ubah reiterated the call on Abia residents to continue on giving support to all security agencies in order to sustain the relative peace being witnessed in the state.
