Gospel singer arrested for beheading his girlfriend in Abuja

Nigerian gospel musician and performer Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, also known by his stage name Timileyin has been arrested for beheading his girlfriend.

The gospel singer was reportedly arrested on Sunday, January 12, 2025, close to a church in Orozo, Abuja.

Witnesses reported seeing the gospel singer with a black nylon bag and flies trailing behind him. He was found in possession of a fresh human head that looked to be his girlfriend’s after locals searched him.

In a video that has gone viral, Ajayi is shown confessing to the police that he had dated the woman for a year before killing her.

To defend himself, he disclosed that he and his girlfriend got into a furious argument during which she attempted to attack him with a knife. But when he beheaded her, things took an unexpected turn.

Since then, the video has provoked social media uproar. Many were offended by a gospel musician who used God as an excuse for his questionable behavior.
