Ghanaian youngster Michael Essien on trial with Latvian side Saldus SS / Leevon

Following his impressive performance with some youth teams in the United States of America, Ghanaian youngster Michael Kofi Essien is making his way into Europe, where the pinnacle of the game is experienced.

Michael Kofi Essien, according to GhanaWeb sources, is set to train with Latvian side Saldus SS / Leevon.

It is believed that the 17-year-old will be training with the club for three weeks, with expectations rife that he will be able to land a permanent deal by the end of the trial period.

Kofi Essien is a young forward, capable of playing across the front three roles and behind the striker.

The young striker is rapid and has an incredible skillset akin to French football greats Kylian Mbappe and Thierry Henry.

Earlier this year, he played an instrumental role for FCDA 2007 Boys Red in their conquest of the 2024 Phoenix Cup.

The teenage prodigy scored and bagged four assists in the tournament to power his side to the ultimate victory.
