Chelsea’s English-born Ghanaian starlet, Josh Acheampong, has been selected for the club’s upcoming tour of the United States, marking a significant milestone in his promising career.

Acheampong, who has been hailed as one of Chelsea’s most promising talents, played a pivotal role in the club’s academy team during the 2023/24 season.

The young Ghanaian made his first-team debut in March 2024, under the tutelage of manager Mauricio Pochettino, in a home victory against Tottenham. His impressive performances led to his first professional contract at the beginning of 2024. Acheampong’s standout moment came when he scored a header in the U18 Premier League national final against Manchester United, despite Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are set to embark on their transatlantic journey to Santa Clara for their opening pre-season match against Wrexham on Wednesday. Following this, they will travel to Notre Dame to face Celtic and then to Atlanta for a clash with Club America.

Chelsea’s tour will conclude with matches against the previous two Champions League winners, Manchester City in Columbus and Real Madrid in Charlotte on August 6. The team will then return to England to prepare for their final pre-season match against Inter Milan.
