Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has been exposed in a video shared by Channels Television after he denied promising never to have any form of disagreement with his godfather, Dr Peter Odili
Recall that in 2022, during Odili’s 70th birthday and retirement thanksgiving mass in Port Harcourt, Rivers capital, Wike praised his predecessor for saving his political career.
During his speech, Wike narrated how he cried to Mrs Odili when he got hint that his name was removed from the list of persons to contest as chairmen of local councils in the state.
According to him, Mrs Odili listened to him and took the complaint to her husband, Peter Odili, then governor of the state, who resolved the matter.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Wike revealed that he is in a dispute with his erstwhile political godfather Dr Odili and although he still considers him a father figure.
He said; “As it is today, politically, we don’t have good relationship. We don’t work together. There are some political differences.
“For me, we have finished with this stage. It does not mean that in the next stage you will be in the same camp. No. He took a decision. I took a decision.”
When confronted about his past promise, he denied making such pronouncement.
However, to serve as a reminder, Channels Television, shared a video of the former Rivers State Governor declaring his undying loyalty to Dr Odili.
“I don’t know the day I will die, but I know I will die one day, but the truth must be told. Any day that I will make Dr Odili to cry, God should not allow me to grow,” Wike said.
