Ghana’s embassy in France as a result of evolution is going paperless and cashless as digitization has come to stay in the helms of affairs in the government of Ghana.
At a Ghanaian community meeting held in Paris with associations, church leaders and Nananom under the auspices of Anna Bossman, Ghana’s Ambassador to France and chaired by Dr. Sarkodie, Timothy Aidoo of the consular section of the embassy made these assertions.
Addressing participants at the meeting, he made mention of passport applications that will from January 2019 be applied online.
He again iterated that with passport issues of Ghanaians in France, each and everyone must book an appointment online to have a date and time to be at the
Embassy thus going on the internet Ghana Embassy Paris.
There again, he made it clear that the embassy is cashless as to the new measures and implementations from the interior ministry in France.
As to how to file documentation at the Ghana Embassy in France was not long ago filed by papers, many Ghanaians living in Paris were of the view that: “I don’t know the internet, we were born before computer”; “I use to let someone fill my forms for me and I don’t even have papers so I can’t pay from a bank or credit card”.
Others were agitating on their time frame of work thus needless for booking the appointment as the embassy is their home and can anytime go there if they have issues beyond their control.
“There should have been a thorough education before starting,” one of the vibrant ladies aired.
Others were of the view that if this is the situation, then the embassy must have a setup of computers and internet section at the embassy with Ghanaians who speak and understand the Ghanaian language to aid them when they go to the embassy because they are BBC (Born Before Computer).
However, Timothy Aidoo noted that sending and receiving items must as well have a rendezvous, date and time approved before going to the embassy.
According to him, as a result of refurbishing the Ghana Embassy France building, a new office shall be opened very soon for the normality of the embassy Dr. Kwame Nkrumah acquired many years after the Independence
of Ghana thus old for renovation.
The budget of the newly rented building is yet to be made public as well as the renovation of the old embassy in France.
