GEA roles out major pragmatic measures to support small and medium enterprises

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Mrs Kosi Yankey-Ayey says her outfit has rolled out major pragmatic measures to support small and medium enterprises in the country to ensure massive growth.

According to her, GEA has launched a Business Integrity Project as part of the measures to incorporate compliance, anti- corruption, regulatory and Integrity activities into their business operations.

Launching the project on Thursday March 16,2023 at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Mrs Kosi Yankey – Ayeh said the project will adopt a multi-sectoral approach to ensure all inclusive and enabling environment for all particularly women entrepreneurs to be able to soar high in their area of work.

Dubbed the “PEPEYE” project, the initiative sought to establish the foundation of a successful into-corruption and compliance programme into operations  of SMEs.

Addressing the media at the sidelines of the event, Mrs Kosi Yankey-Aye said the first six months of the  project will be piloted at Kumasi and Accra for the initial stage and later extend to the rest of the country.

The six month pilot is in partnership with the Alliance for Integrity and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (GIZ), Germany to strengthen the compliance capacities of SMEs.

She applauded the tireless efforts of the Government and contributions made so far to incorporate women into the country’s digital agenda.
