GDW set to Launch its Ghana chapter on February

Ghana Diaspora Women (GDW) is set to launch its Ghana Chapter on 15th February, 2020 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, under the theme “The Role of Diaspora Women in National Development”.

GDW is a non-profit organization that seeks to empower women and increase female participation in policy making processes

In a chat with the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Mrs Marie Amoakwa-Boadu expressed her delight of the overwhelming successes achieved by the “Year of Return”

Project and the subsequent launch of “Beyond the Return”, the GDW seeks to partner government in developing women to be keenly involved in decision-making at all levels of governance.

Guest speakers expected at the launch include the Deputy Minister of Gender and Children Affairs Hon Freda Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency Hon Bernice Heloo, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah founder of Kandifo Institute, Michelle McKinney Hammond an international speaker and Life Coach, Emefa Gadze an Executive life coach and founder of Single Parents Support Network, Emmanuel Quayson Chairman of Ghana Union UK, Ama Duncan founder of the Fabulous Woman Network and Esther Tawia founder and Executive Director for Gender Center for Empowering Development.

She stressed that the GDW is a non-partisan organization that aims at promoting the rights and interests of all Ghanaian women and girls particularly the underprivileged in the society.

Ghana Diaspora Women was officially launched in London on 26th October, 2019 with the Deputy UK Ireland High Commissioner Mrs Rita Tani Iddi, celebrated Ghanaian broadcaster Oheneyere Gifty Anti and a host of high profile personalities in attendance. It has chapters in various countries including USA, Italy, Canada, Hungary and Ireland.
