Savannah Region: Public & Private Schools Benefit From Phase III Of Nationwide Disinfection Of Schools

Following the directive from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the Reopening of Senior High and Junior High schools in the midst of the novel Covid-19 pandemic, waste management experts, Zoomlion Ghana Limited in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service supervised by the Ministry of Education has embarked on a disinfection exercise in the Savannah region.

 

This exercise is the third, after the  successful completion of the first and second phases across the country.

 

Both Senior High and Junior High Schools are expected to reopen in October for the commencement of the new academic year.

 

The phase III of the nationwide disinfection of schools will be extended to the other regions.

 

Mr. Asomah Tijani, Assistant Headmaster Of Jafo Junior High Block B in the West Gonja Municipal in the Savannah Region commended the Ghana Education Service, Ministry Of Education and Zoomlion Ghana Limited for facilitating a smooth and succesful exercise towards the  reopening of schools.

 

 

“I’m very excited to see Zoomlion Ghana Limited partnering the Government through the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education for the disinfection aimed at ensuring the safety of students, staff and other workers.

 

We will also play our part to ensure a total compliance to the Covid- 19 safety measures, Mr Tijani added.”

 

In addition, the headmistress of the Al-Manara E/A  KG/Primary school Ms. Mahama Saudatu expressed her appreciation to the Government and Zoomlion Ghana Limited for their support.

 

“It is nice we are coming back to school to continue the academic calendar.

 

 

“I will say a very Big thank you to the Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Education and Zoomlion for bring back the hope of going back to school in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic”.

 

 

The Deptuty Municipal Director of Education in Charge of supervision Mr. Katribi Dramani added his voice in appreciating the government for this initiative.

 

He also assured parents in the Savannah Region their readiness for the schools reopening.

 

Some of the schools disinfected today include Jafo Block A & B Primary, Al-Manara E/A KG/Primary, Jakpa D/A KG & Primary, Buipe Maranatha SDA Primary & Junior High school, Buipe RC KG, Primary & JHS, Buipe Senior High School and Buipe Technical and Vocational Institute among other schools.
