Fuel tanker bursts into flames at Enyiresi

A fuel tanker has been engulfed in flames on Wednesday evening at Enyiresi near Memphis Construction Ltd in the Atiwa East Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Thick black smoke and intense flames billowed from the vehicle, forcing nearby residents and passersby to flee for safety.

Personnel from the Anyinam Fire Station arrived promptly at the scene and battled the raging fire for hours before bringing it under control.

They immediately deployed foam concentrate solution to prevent the fire from spreading to the tanker’s head.

Due to the severity of the fire, additional support was called in from Nkawkaw.

The combined efforts of the Anyinam and Nkawkaw crews successfully contained and extinguished the fire, preventing a possible explosion.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, with early indications pointing to a possible fuel leak ignited by a spark.
Meanwhile, a similar incident happened in Wa where a container shop adjacent to a GOIL fuel station caught fire.
The fire crew brought the raging flames under control, preventing it from spreading to eight nearby shops and the fuel station directly behind them.
