Frimpong Manso calls on C.K Akonnor to maintain Wahab-Ganiu partnership for Al Hilal clash

Asante Kotoko legend Frimpong Manso has urged coach Charles Akonnor to maintain the defensive pair in the weekend CAF Confederation Cup win over Nkana FC when they square off against Al Hilal in Sunday.

Kotoko coach CK Akonnor was forced to start Wahab Adams alongside Ismael Ganiu in defense in place of error-prone Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu prior to the 3-0 win over Nkana FC.

Wahab complimented the efforts of Ganiu as the Reds recorded their first clean sheet in four games in the competition.

According to Manso, the introduction of Wahab did the trick for the Porcupine Warriors hence coach Akonnor should maintain the same pairing in the ‘must win’ encounter against Al Hilal on Sunday.

“I think the introduction of Wahab Adams to the defense of Kotoko was really good. He played very well and maintaining that pair of defenders could help the course of the club.”

The newly appointed Nkoranza Warriors trainer exalted the performance of Daniel Darkwa in the match.

“Also, Daniel Darkwah did very well. His surging runs, passes and crosses were simply brilliant. All he needs is consistency in playing more matches,” he told Light FM Sports.

Kotoko will take on Sudanese side Al Hilal on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the penultimate Group C clash of the CAF Confederation Cup.
