Free 5GB data for Glo customers after activating e-SIM

Digital solutions provider, Globacom, has launched its e-SIM, which allows its customers who activate the SIM and buy a data plan of N1,500 or more to enjoy an instant 5GB data bonus.

In a statement in Lagos, Globacom explained that e-SIM is a software-based digital chip built directly into smartphones or wearable devices, thus eliminating the need for a physical SIM card for customers.

“Customers on any network can enjoy ‘SIM-less’ freedom with Glo e-SIM as an additional SIM on their phones,” the statement said.

With e-SIM, customers can seamlessly switch between numbers without a physical SIM adding. The e-SIM is convenient for upwardly mobile people who travel frequently.

Globacom said another advantage of its e-SIM is security as it is harder to remove from devices. E-SIM is equally eco-friendly and eliminates plastic waste.

The company said the e-SIM more adequately caters for high-net-worth individuals and enterprise customers, adding that it underscores its commitment to providing seamless and future-ready services to customers.

A customer seeking to activate the e-SIM can first check the compatibility of the mobile handset by dialling *#06#. If an EID number reflects on the mobile screen, the device is e-SIM compatible.

The customer can thereafter proceed to the nearest Gloworld shop or Glo Dealer outlet to migrate to e-SIM. The process takes only a few minutes and the customer can thereafter begin to enjoy the use of an e-SIM.
