First female police PhD holder in Africa appointed Madina Police Divisional Commander

This appointment marks a pivotal moment in her distinguished career within the Ghana Police Service.
Dr Aba-Afari holds the distinction of being the first female PhD holder in the police service in Ghana and Africa.
She obtained her PhD in Art Education from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2017.
In recognition of her exemplary leadership and efforts in crime reduction, Dr Aba-Afari was awarded two honorary doctorate degrees in Ministry and Christian Education by the Holy Spirit Bible University, USA, in October 2023.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr Aba-Afari has served in various capacities, including roles with the United Nations in Europe and Africa.
She is also a counselor and an art therapy expert with a strong commitment to addressing gender issues and combating human trafficking.
In November 2024, Dr Aba-Afari was a motivational speaker at KNUST’s 58th Congregation, sharing insights from her career and encouraging graduates to embrace challenges and strive for excellence.
Dr Aba-Afari is an alumna of Hohoe EP Senior High School and Krachi Senior High School.
She has a top-notch time management competency that makes it almost fluid
balancing her professional life and the demands of her family life.
Dr Sarah Aba-Afari an indigene of Botoku and Krachi, and holds the view that gender disparity in our society could be addressed by enhancing the capacity of women through training, retraining, and the acquisition of employable skills, leading to economic emancipation.
