Fire guts warehouse at Spintex; property worth thousand of Cedis destroyed

Fire has gutted a section of a chain of six warehouses located at Spintex in Accra Monday, November 11, 2024, night.

It is unclear what caused the inferno at the warehouse which is said to be a sofa manufacturing facility. No casualties were recorded in the raging fire.

Officers from the Fire Service on the Spintex road near Kasapreko company were the first to arrive at the scene to fight the fire. But due to the intense nature of the raging fire, they called in reinforcement from the four other fire stations including the Headquarters, Trade Fair, University of Ghana and Abelenpke.

The Fire Officers had a tough time putting the raging fire under control. As of time of filing this report around 11pm, the fire was still raging.

However, the ADO Alex King Nartey of the Public Relations Unit of the Ghana National Fire, expressed his officer’s commitment to put the fire under control and eventually dousing it before leaving the fire outbreak scene.

Lots of items worth several thousands of Cedis were consumed by the raging fire.
