Finance minister leads high-level technical meeting with IMF representatives

The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is leading a crucial technical meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Money and Capital Markets Division (MCM).

In a post shared on his X page, and sighted by GhanaWeb Business, the minister emphasised the importance of the engagement, which focuses on strengthening Ghana’s financial systems and advancing key reforms.

“I am currently leading a crucial technical meeting with representatives from the IMF’s Money and Capital Markets Division (MCM),” he posted.

He is joined by prominent national stakeholders, including the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama; senior economic advisor and former finance minister Seth Terkper; and Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Dr Nii Moi Thompson.

The meeting is expected to shape critical financial sector policies and foster deeper collaboration between Ghana and the IMF as the country works to stabilise its economy and boost investor confidence.
