Finance minister engages with traders, head porters ahead of 2025 budget presentation

He shared this update on his X page on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

“We just concluded an insightful engagement with market women, kayayei, and others at Makola Market. It was a privilege to interact with these hardworking Ghanaians who break their backs daily to support our economy.

“Their expectations ahead of Budget2025 on Tuesday, March 11, will help shape our shared future,” Dr. Ato Forson wrote.

He is set to present his first budget in Parliament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

The budget is expected to address critical issues, including the country’s high inflation rates and unstable exchange rates, among other economic challenges.

The presentation of the 2025 budget is in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21(3) of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

This provides the minister with a platform to outline the fiscal policy for the year, as contained in the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government.
