A 24-year-old self-style fetish priest has been arrested by the Sege District Police Headquarters for allegedly butchering his aunt.

The sad incident occurred at Goi, a village at Sege within the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region.

Isaiah Tetteh Sebbie reportedly inflicted machete wounds on Tornyersi Sebbie — his father’s sister who is believed to be about 60 years — for reasons yet to be established by the police.

Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) George Aboagye, Commander of the Sege District Police Headquarters, said the victim was brought to the police station with multiple deep wounds on the upper part of her body.

The police officer said the victim was rushed to the Ada East District Hospital but heard later that she had passed on.

“Police went to the hospital and the medics at the facility confirmed the death before the corpse was sent to the Police Hospital morgue for examination and preservation,” the Commander stated.

DSP Aboagye explained that report available to police indicated that family of the deceased woke up on Sunday morning and found her with deep machete wounds, adding “the woman told her family that the suspect assaulted and inflicted machete wounds on her.”

The suspect was immediately arrested from his hideout in the area to assist in investigation.
