Fear grips Breman – Nkontwima residents over rampant shootings and robbery attacks
Residents of Breman – Nkontwima in the Suame Municipal of the Ashanti Region are living in fear following a rampant shootings and armed robbery attacks of some people who lived in the area.
Residents said they have over the years discovered mutilated bodies of people, both male and female.
Speaking in an interview with the Press Radio’s Anokye Elvis on Monday, October 8, 2018 some of the residents said, they always wake up to the sight of inflict wounds on somebody.
“For the past one month several shootings and robbery attacks have been recorded, the latest incident occurred three days ago one person was inflicted wounds today another person has also been suffered the same pains” One resident stated.
The situation according to residents has left them in a state of fear and anxiety. “The situation has become very alarming as they go about their daily activities in fear “. Another person said.
According to them, lack of street bulbs, insecurity and the deplorable nature of the road are the causes of the rampant shootings and the robbery attacks, situation they said is worrisome.
They noted that the Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and the Security agencies, seems helpless on how to tackle the challenges. The y stressed that a situation where the people could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed or go out without fear of been attacked or robbed, pose a great danger to the state.
They are therefore appealing to the government to beef up security in the area else they will embark on a massive demonstration against the authorities and find ways and means to protect themselves.
