AUDIO: Imposters are parading as Western Togoland security – New group claims

The People’s Liberation Council of Western Togoland has stated explicitly that members of the supposed Western Togoland who went on a rampage attacking security installations and blocking roads are imposters.

According to Public Relations Officer (PRO) of this group Seth Mifetu, the violent  activities of the group is meant to cast slur on the image of genuine union which stands for peace.

Dissociating the People’s Liberation Council of Western Togoland from the acts of violence witnessed on Friday dawn at various places in the Volta Region, Seth Mifetu believed some faceless persons with political interest are fueling the actions of these imposters.

“We believe that the people who are doing these things have a political motive, they have political elements behind them and pushing them. They are using the name Western Togoland to discredit a beautiful course so I want to caution them”, he warned.

He called on the security agencies in Ghana to deal ruthless with these outlaws who are bent to satisfy their paymasters by engaging in acts detrimental to the course of the People’s Liberation Council of Western Togoland.

“We are calling on the security agencies in Ghana to deal with them in order to serve as a deterrent to other persons who think they can break laws with impunity”, he appealed.

Meanwhile, he blames authorities in Ghana for the attacks saying “. I want to state here clearly that Ghana must be held fully responsible for mismanaging a union with Western Togoland. We are calling on the government of Ghana to see a need for a review of the union between Ghana and Western Togoland”
