Farm turns delivery room as midwife aids birth in Upper Manya Krobo

A pregnant woman and her unborn child were saved by the prompt response of a midwife and her assistant at the Sekesua Health Center in the Eastern Region.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the woman and her mother-in-law were traveling along a bush path in the Upper Manya Krobo District when she unexpectedly went into labor while en route to the health center near Osonson Sekesua.

Since there was no car accessible, she had to lie down and start delivering on a nearby farm.

The midwife, Helen, was called in an emergency to discuss the problem. She hurried to the farm with her assistant after gathering necessary medical supplies, according to a report by channel1news.com.

Due to their prompt action, the baby was delivered safely on the spot, and the mother and child were brought to the health center after being stabilized.

Both are well and receiving care at the facility.
