Nations FC defender Razak Simpson impresses on Ghana debut

Nations FC defender Razak Simpson made an impressive debut for Ghana in their 1-1 draw against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 26-year-old was a surprise inclusion in the starting lineup but justified the coach’s decision with a composed and assured performance in the heart of the defence.

Despite Ghana’s elimination from the tournament, Simpson’s display was a silver lining in an otherwise disappointing campaign. Partnering with experienced defenders, he showcased excellent positional awareness, aerial ability, and composure under pressure.

Simpson’s selection comes after a string of standout performances for Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League, earning him a maiden call-up to the Black Stars squad.

Following the game, fans and analysts praised Simpson for his maturity on the international stage, with many believing he could play a key role in Ghana’s rebuilding process as the team looks ahead to future competitions.
